"What movie could be worth driving 260 miles round trip for?"-Harvey Pekar
Harvey Pekar was not an interesting person, yet they made a movie about him. Harvey was a file clerk in a VA hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and was very depressed. He was intellectual, poor, and very bored, it seemed that no matter what he did, nothing was easy. "ordinary life is pretty complicated stuff," he said. despite his constant pessimism, and the fact that he couldn't draw, harvey managed to create a comic book based on his own life. American Splendor was nothing more than Harveys musings about everyday events in his world, illustrated by others and sold to the masses, his friends, co-workers, and family all became storylines and enjoyed thier moment of celebrity. in 2003 a movie by the same name documented this phenominon starring both the real harvey and Paul Giomanni, and while you watch it, you realize that harvey is not interesting, funny, or inspiring, but it is still entertaining.
harvey is a normal guy, and they made a movie about him.
now, imagine what an extra-ordinary guy's movie would be like...Second-Hand Clothing Productions presents A Day in the Life of Greg Oden.
