One machine can do the work of ten ordinary men, but no machine can do the work of one extraordinary man.-Elbert Hubbard
another day, another dollar..yet i, like jake, pause for reflection, remembering jobs done and blogs written, remembering loud noises and passive voices, remember songs sung and gambles won, and thinking...what a waste of my time.
the problem i deal with that doesn't bother lesser mortals is the burden of greatness and of genius. i should be inventing a longer lasting lightbulb or curing diseases so terrible we haven't even invented them yet. instead i spend my time working in a medium so temporal that the moment you've head it, it's over. actually it's been over for a few milliseconds depending who far away from the mains you're standing, but i digress.
it is through long tormenting hours of deliberation that i decided, my greatest attribute to mankind and my greatest sacrifice is actually doing nothing great at all. by not curing disease, or the like, i ensure that someone else will get the edification of doing it, that they will reap the glory and have me to thank, even if they don't know it.
perhaps it's a dodge on my responsiblity, but i like it. in the mean time i have left a legacy everywhere i go, and that's the trail of deaf people in my wake.
have a nice day.
