maybe i'm not the smartest guy out there...i've done some dumb things but the dumbest may, in fact, be the upkeep of this blog. i do it for my own amusement and for the amusement of the two, maybe three, people who read it. but maybe, i've got lots of people who read it and think i'm psychotic. somewhere there may even be, enshrined in some manilla folder in washington, a study in black and white of my fingerprints and a copy of "for ginger..."

you're saying, "greg, you're paranoid, we're not living in some futuristic, orwellian society that is monitoring everything every weird little person writes on the intranet." well, lets see...

i know, at least, one employer who didn't hire an applicant based on his myspace.

a sex offender gets arrested, the first thing they check is their myspace.

virginia tech gets shot up, all we hear about is the shooters myspace.

i'm not writing things that will get me fired, i'm not a pervert, and i'm not going to shoot up random people out of pure angst, but how much ammunition am i giving people who aren't going to have my best interests at heart, now or later. maybe that's why myspace does you the service of asking you, "are you really sure you want to post this?"

call it a guilty pleasure, but it's one i (and we) should be cautious with, because we have no idea what damage i may be doing to myself.

now...let's talk about guns...
